A sphere of radius 5 cm is melted to form a cone with base of same radius. The height (in cm) of the cone is

Solution

Radius of sphere = $$R$$ = 5 cm

Let height of cone = $$h$$ cm and radius = $$r$$ = 5 cm

Volume of cone = Volume of sphere

=> $$\frac{4}{3} \pi R^3 = \frac{1}{3} \pi r^2 h$$

=> $$4 \times (5)^3=(5)^2 \times h$$

=> $$h=4 \times \frac{5^3}{5^2}$$

=> $$h=4 \times 5=20$$ cm

=> Ans - (C)
