A wholesaler purchased 7 hair clips for a rupee. How many for a rupee must he sell to get profit of 40%
C.P. of 7 hair clips = Re. 1
S.P. of 7 hair clips = 140% of 1 Rupee's
$$\frac{140}{100}$$=1.4
if he sold 7 pins in 1.4 Rupee's he will got a profit of 40%.
so,cost of 1 pin $$\frac{1.4}{7}$$=0.2: 20 paisa
so in 1 Rupee's he has to sold 5 hair pins: 5$$\times .20= 1 Rupee's$$
