2, Ms. Y. Mr. X’s wife, earned half of the amount Mr. X earned, and they together earned ₹ 9,000 in 2000.

Solution

Let the salary of Mr.X be x.

Using statement 1 , $$\frac{110}{100}x = 7000$$ ,

x 's value can be calculated.

Using statement 2 , $$ x + \frac{x}{2} = 9000$$

x 's value can be calculated.

So , the answer would be option d)Either 1 or 2 is sufficient to answer the question.
