ΔGHI is similar to ΔKLM. If the ratio of Perimeter of ΔGHI : Perimeter of ΔKLM = 9:4 and length of GH is 27 cm what is the length of the corresponding side KL?

Solution

It is given that ΔGHI $$\sim$$ ΔKLM

Let length of KL = $$x$$ cm and length of the corresponding side GH = 27 cm

Also, ratio of Perimeter of ΔGHI : Perimeter of ΔKLM = 9:4

=> Ratio of Perimeter of ΔGHI : Perimeter of ΔKLM = Ratio of corresponding sides = GH : KL

=> $$\frac{9}{4} = \frac{27}{x}$$

=> $$x = \frac{27 \times 4}{9} = 3 \times 4$$

=> $$x = 12$$ cm

=> Ans - (A)
