The area of a rectangle is 448 sq.m. If the length is more than the breadth by 12%, find the breadth.

Solution

Let the breadth be x then length = $$\frac{112x}{100}$$

Area = lb

448 = $$\frac{112x}{100}\times\ x=\frac{28x^2}{25}$$

$$x^2=16\times\ 25$$

x = 20.
