What will be the cost of 14kg of rice bought at Rs. 38 per kg: 25 kg of sugar bought at Rs.19 per kg and 9 kg of salt bought at Rs. 23 per kg ?

Solution

Cost of rice = Rs. 38 per kg

Cost of sugar = Rs. 19 per kg

Cost of salt = Rs. 23 per kg

Price of 14 kg rice, 25 kg sugar and 9 kg salt

= $$(14 \times 38) + (25 \times 19) + (9 \times 23)$$

= $$532 + 475 + 207 = Rs. 1,214$$
