Find the median mode and mean of 9, 5, 8, 9, 9, 7 8, 9, 8.

Solution

Means is average of given data set = $$\frac{9+5+8+9+9+7+8+9+8}{9}=\frac{72}{9}=8$$

Median means middle number of the given set after arranging in increasing order so, 5, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 9, 9

= $$\left(\frac{n+1}{2}\right)^{th\ }term=\frac{9+1}{2}=5th\ term\ =\ 8$$

Mode is the values which occurs most in the set = 9 occurs 4 times

so, 9 is mode.
