In what ratio rice costing Rs 14/kg mixed with another rice costing Rs 11/kg to get the mixture costing Rs 11.6/kg?

Solution

Let quantity of Rs. 14/kg and Rs. 11/kg rice mixed be $$x$$ and $$y$$ kg respectively.

According to ques,

=> $$14x+11y=11.6(x+y)$$

=> $$14x+11y=11.6x+11.6y$$

=> $$14x-11.6x=11.6y-11y$$

=> $$2.4x=0.6y$$

=> $$\frac{x}{y}=\frac{0.6}{2.4}=\frac{1}{4}$$

$$\therefore$$ Required ratio = $$1:4$$

=> Ans - (B)
