If a number 6573547x45 is divisible by 9, then find the value of x.

Solution

For a number to be divisible by 9, sum of digits of the number must be divisible be 9.

=> Sum of digits of number = $$6+5+7+3+5+4+7+x+4+5=(x+46)$$

Clearly, the sum is greater than 46, so the next multiples of 9 is 54.

=> $$x+46=54$$

=> $$x=54-46=8$$

=> Ans - (C)
