Two numbers are in the ratio 6 : 11. If their HCF is 28. then the sum of these two numbers is:
Solution
Let the numbers be 6x and 11xÂ
Now HCF of 6x and 11x = 28
As we know 6 and 11 are co-prime and have HCF =1Â
so we can say for 6x and 11x to have HCF =28
x has to be 28
so we get numbers as 168 and 308
Now therefore sum of the numbers = 308+168 = 476
