If three successive discounts of 10%, 15% and 30% are given, then what will be the net discount (in percentage)?
Let marked price = Rs. $$100$$
After 1st discount of 10%, price = $$100-(\frac{10}{100}\times100)$$
= $$100-10=90$$
After 2nd discount of 15% (on changed price), selling price = $$90-(\frac{15}{100}\times90)$$
= $$90-13.5=Rs.$$ $$76.5$$
After 3rd discount of 30%, net selling price = $$76.5-(\frac{30}{100}\times76.5)$$
= $$76.5-22.95=Rs.$$ $$53.55$$
$$\therefore$$ Net discount = $$\frac{(100-53.55)}{100}\times100=46.45\%$$
