If 18th October 2011 was a Sunday, then what day of the week was it on 19th September 2012?

Solution

According to the question, 18th October 2011 is Sunday

Number of days left in October = $$31-18=13$$

Similarly, odd days from 18th October 2011 till 19th September 2012

= $$(13+30+31+31+29+31+30+31+30+31+31+19)\%7$$ (February has 29 days in a leap year)

= $$6+2+3+3+1+3+2+3+2+3+3+5=36$$

Now, dividing 36 by 7, remainder = 1

Thus, day on 19th September 2012 = Sunday (+1) = Monday
