According to the question, 27th February 2011 is Sunday

Number of days left in February = $$28-27=1$$

Similarly, odd days from 27th February 2011 till 1st March 2012 =

= $$(1+31+30+31+30+31+31+30+31+30+31+31+29+1)\%7$$ (February has 29 days in 2012)

= $$1+3+2+3+2+3+3+2+3+2+3+3+1+1=32$$

Now, dividing 32 by 7, remainder = 4

Thus, day on 1st March 2012 = Sunday (+4) = Thursday
