Question 14

In the following question, correct the equation by interchanging two signs.
6 + 8 ÷ 4 - 4 = 8

Solution

Expression : 6 + 8 ÷ 4 - 4 = 8

By interchanging :

(A) : ÷ and =

=> $$6+8=4-4\div8$$

L.H.S = $$14\neq$$ R.H.S. = $$3.5$$

(B) : ÷ and +

L.H.S. = $$6\div8+4-4$$

= $$3\div4=0.75\neq$$ R.H.S.

(C) : ÷ and -

L.H.S. = $$6+8-4\div4$$

= $$14-1=13\neq$$ R.H.S.

(D) : + and -

L.H.S. = $$6-8\div4+4$$

= $$6-2+4=8=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (D)
