Ram and Shyam undertook a work for Rs 5600. Ram alone can do the work in 5 days and Shyam alone can do the work in 9 days. If they work together, then what will be the difference (in Rs.) in the amount they receive?

Solution

Ram alone can do the work in 5 days and Shyam alone can do the work in 9 days.

=> Efficiency of work done by Ram : Shyam = $$9:5$$

Thus, difference in amount received by them = $$\frac{(9-5)}{9+5}\times5600$$

= $$4\times400=Rs.$$ $$1600$$

=> Ans - (D)
