The positions of Suman and Rajesh in a row are $$12^{th}$$ from left and $$8^{th}$$ from right respectively. If they interchange their places, then Rajesh will be $$17^{th}$$ from right. Find out the position of Suman from left and the total number of persons in the group?

Solution

Let us consider the position of suman to be denoted by x

In the first case, x is 12th from left.

After interchanging, x is 17th from right.

So position of x is 12+17-1 .i.e. 28

we are deducting 1 because x position is considered twice.

Hence Option B is correct.
