If CAT is coded as 72 and TROT is coded as 292, then how will STAG be coded as ?

Solution

Each letter is represented by their position in the English alphabetical series.

So, C= 3, A=1, T=20 = $$(3+1+20) = 24\times3=72$$

T=20, R=18, O=15, T=20

$$(20+18+15+20) = 73\times4=292$$

The pattern is after adding the sum is multiplied with the number of total alphabet,

S= 19, T=20, A=1, G=7 = $$(19+20+1+7)\times4=188$$
