Question 35

Sentences of a paragraph are given below in jumbled order. Arrange the sentences in the correct order to form a meaningful and coherent paragraph.
A. He also advised me to come to table.
B. An English passenger, taking kindly to me, drew me into conversation.
C. He laughed at my insistence on abjuring meat, and said in a friendly way, “It is so
cold in England that one cannot possibly live there without meat.”
D. He asked me what I ate, what I was, where I was going, why I was shy, and so on.

Solution

Statement B sets the passage's context: an English passenger drawing someone into a conversation.
The natural follow-up to this is statement D, which clarifies what conversation is being talked about here.

At this point, we can mark option C as our answer, but it is always good to look at the complete sequence and see if it is logically coherent. From D, we go to A, which mentions one more thing the Englishman brought up during his conversation; after which comes statement C, which continues with the responses to the previous question posed by the Englishman.

BDAC is a logically coherent sequence

Therefore, Option C is the correct answer.
