Here place values of given words are-
R=18, I=9, P=16
So, RIP=(18+9+16)-1 =42
Similarly, M=13, O=15, L=12
So, (13+15+12)-1 = 39
G=7, A=1, N=14
So, (7+1+14)-1 = 21
