If 6 years are subtracted from the present age of Shyam and the remainder is divided by 18 , then the present age of his grand son Anup is obtained. If Anup is 2 years younger to Mahesh whose age is 5 years, then what is the age of Shyam?

Solution

Present age of Mahesh years

Present age of Anup

Let present age of Shyam

Then, present age of Anup $= \frac{x - 6/}{18}$

$\frac{x - 6/}{18} = 3$

$So, x - 6 = 3 \times 18 = 54$

$Therefore, x= 54 + 6$

$= 60$
