Instructions

Seven People A, B, C, D, E, F, G are planning to enjoy boating. There are only two boats, and the following conditions are to be kept in mind.
(I) A will go in the same boat in which E is to go.
(II) F cannot go in the same boat in which C is, unless D is also accompanying.
(III) Neither B nor C can be given the boat in which G is.
(IV) The maximum number of persons in one boat can be four only.

Question 57

If F and B are in one boat, which of the following statements is true?

Solution

From statement III, we can infer that both B and C are in one boat, different from that of G.

Now, as per the question, if F and B are in the same boat, F and C are also together. So, when we use statement II, we can see that D has to be on the same boat as F. So, B, C, D and F are on one boat and the rest are in the other one (as only a maximum of 4 persons in a boat are allowed).

Option option A is correct with the final results we obtain.
