If the product of numerator of one and denominator of other is equal to product of denominator of one and numerator of the other than that pair is said to be equivalent

2×120 = 5 × 48
240 = 240
So, $$\frac{2}{5}$$ and$$\frac{48}{120}$$ are equivalent
Similarly
$$\frac{42}{63}$$ and$$\frac{2}{3}$$ are equivqlent
