If the price of sugar is decreased by 18%, then a person can buy 16.2 kg sugar more for Rs 4500. What will be the new price (in Rs) of sugar per kg?
Let price of sugar = Rs. $$100x$$ per kg
Sugar bought for Rs. 4500 = $$\frac{4500}{100x}=\frac{45}{x}$$ kg
New price of sugar = $$100x-(\frac{18}{100}\times100x)=Rs.$$ $$82x$$
Sugar bought for Rs. 4500 =Â $$\frac{4500}{82x}$$ kg
According to ques,
=> $$\frac{45}{x}+16.2=\frac{4500}{82x}$$
=> $$\frac{4500}{82x}-\frac{4500}{100x}=16.2$$
=> $$4500(\frac{1}{82x}-\frac{1}{100x})=16.2$$
=> $$\frac{100x-82x}{100x\times82x}=\frac{16.2}{4500}$$
=> $$\frac{18}{82x}=\frac{162}{450}$$
=> $$x=\frac{18}{82}\times\frac{450}{162}$$
=> $$x=\frac{50}{82}$$
$$\therefore$$Â New price = $$82\times\frac{50}{82}=Rs.$$ $$50$$
