The base and height of a right angled triangle is 12 cm and 5 cm respectively. Find the circum-radius (in cm) of the triangle.
Length of base and height of triangle = 12 and 5 cm
=> Let length of hypotenuse = $$x$$ cm
=> $$(x)^2=(12)^2+(5)^2$$
=> $$(x)^2=144+25=169$$
=> $$x=\sqrt{169}=13$$ cm
Also, the circumcentre of a right angled triangle lies on its hypotenuse, thus circumradius = $$\frac{1}{2}\times$$ (hypotenuse)
= $$\frac{1}{2}\times13=6.5$$ cm
