Two numbers are more than the third number by 16.25% and 55% respectively. First number is what percentage of the second number?

Solution

Let the third number = $$100x$$

First number is greater than the third number by 16.25%, => First number = $$100x+(\frac{16.25}{100}\times100x)=116.25x$$

Similarly, second number = $$100x+(\frac{55}{100}\times100x)=155x$$

$$\therefore$$ Required % = $$\frac{116.25x}{155x}\times100=75\%$$

=> Ans - (C)
