Bachelors Discipline Break-Up

The batch consisted of 173 females and 359 males. 83% of the batch was from an engineering background. 13 candidates possessed a Professional qualification such as CA/CS/ICWA.

41% of students were from IITs and NITs. 23.58% from the IITs and 26.07% from the NITs.

A work experience of 106 months is considered to be high, 1 month is considered to be low and 24 months was the average work experience in the 2023 batch.

Age Profile

The batch had an average age profile of 24 years, while 35 years and 19 years were high and low respectively.

IIM Bangalore 2024: Financial Aids and Scholarships

Financial Aids

Financial help is provided by IIMB to deserving students. Ensuring that no student is denied an education at IIMB due to financial constraints is the goal of the financial aid policy of the university.

Any PGP student who makes less than INR 800,000 a year in their family income is qualified to apply for financial help. IIM Bangalore also take into consideration those students who have serious financial challenges as a result of unexpected events that happened suddenly.

The Financial money Committee decides the amount of money to be given and the number of grantees in two steps.

1. In the first step, students receive a financial status score based on four factors: Annual Gross Household Income (which includes the student's income if they were employed prior to joining IIMB and any outstanding loans, as long as they weren't taken for conspicuous consumption), Household Savings, Real Estate Assets, and Other Assets.
2. Based on this score, a faculty panel will contact some students for in-person interactions, where they will assess the students' financial need and determine whether the information they submitted on their application was truthful. The faculty panel will then assign a financial need score based on the weighted average of these two scores. Applicants will receive 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, or 20% financial aid.

Scholarships

Apart from Financial Aid, which is granted only on the basis of financial need, PGP students are also awarded many scholarships based on merit or merit plus need, as explained below:

1. Aditya Birla Scholarship: PGP candidates in both their first and second year are eligible for this merit-based award. If they place in the top 25% of the first year's batch, students who receive scholarships in the first year are allowed to apply for renewal in the following year. Each student would receive a scholarship of INR 1.75 lakh.
2. OPJEMS prize: Second-year PGP students are eligible to apply for this merit-based prize. Applications are open to the top ten students in the second year, determined by their first year's academic standing. OP Jindal Group will administer an online test, and one student from each academic year will get a reward. The 1.50 lakh rupee scholarship is awarded.
3. NTPC Scholarship Programme: The annual scholarship is worth INR 48,000. Scholarship recipients are those who fall into the SC/ST/PwD categories, are enrolled in their second year of management studies, and passed the first year test on their first try.
4. Scholarship for Employment in the Social Sector: Under this scholarship, the winner gets reimbursed for one-third of the costs at the conclusion of each work year for the first three years spent in the social sector.
5. Ministry of Tribal Affairs Scholarship (ST): First-year PGP candidates from Scheduled Tribes are eligible to apply for the National Scholarship for Higher Education, which is administered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. This award provides complete tuition reimbursement.
6. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Scholarship (SC): Meritorious first-year SC students are invited to apply for the National Scholarship for Higher Education for Scheduled Caste students, which is administered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This award provides complete tuition reimbursement.
7. The Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Department of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment: a disabled individual who is at least 40% disabled and has a disability certificate from any recognised medical organisation. This scholarship has an annual value of INR 255,000.Students can apply for additional State Government Scholarships through the financial aid and scholarship offices in addition to the aforementioned scholarships.
