IIM Calcutta one of the top IIMs in the country offers a two-year full-time post-graduate MBA program. Thousands of aspirants seek admission in this prestigious institute each year. IIM Calcutta takes into account the CAT score, past academic record and diversity for its admissions. However there are some eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled in order to be considered for admission into MBA program. In this blog we would know the batch profile, scholarships offered and the eligibility criteria for MBA program.

IIM Calcutta Eligibility Criteria

A candidate applying for admissions must hold 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in their Bachelor's Degree (45% for SC, ST and PwD) awarded by their respective college/university.

The percentage marks will be calculated based on the practice followed by the institute. In case the candidate is awarded CGPA in place of percentage, the conversion would be made by the formula establised by the institute. In case the institute confirms there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be made by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying it by 100.

Those who have completed an integrated masters or dual degree directly after 12th, the percentage of marks obtained as per the university which is considered equivalent to bachelor's degree will be considered. In case the UG and PG marks are not separated by the institute , PG marks will be considered as UG marks for further stages of admission process.

Candidates who are appearing for the final exams or those who have finished but awaiting results can also apply provided they submit a provisional certificate from Principal/ Registrar latest by June 30, 2024. Those who are yet to finish their dual degree, for them the aggregate marks for all semesters till August, 2023 will be taken into account.

Candidates who have graduated in the years 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023 for whom their respective institute did not conduct any exams but only awarded pass marks will need to submit a certificate from Principal/Registrar. The certificate stating that no exams were conducted and only pass marks or CGPA was awarded in one or more years/ semesters.

A candidate who has not received his/her graduation results at the time of registration will have to produce the mark sheet and certificates as soon the university publishes the result but not later than 31 December 2024. Failing to provide so will lead to cancellation of candidate's admission.
