Shorthand is a method of rapid writing by means of abbreviations and symbols, used especially for taking dictation. Dr. Gopal Dutt Bisht, who was born in Almora of Distt of Uttarakhand, created a word Record by writing 250 words in a minute in stenography. This is a world record so far. He was also the first person in World who had done Ph.D. in Stenography.
