The price of sugar is increased by 21%. A person wants to increase his expenditure by 12% only. By what percent, correct to one decimalplace, should he reduce his consumption?
Let a man buy 100 kg of sugar in Rs 100
21% price increased then,
100 kg price will be Rs 121
Man increased his expenditure by 12% = 112
Rs 121=100 kg sugar
Rs 112= $$\frac{11200}{121}=92.60 Â kg\ $$
So he have to reduce his consumption by 100 - 92.60= 7.40 %
