Rs 18200 is divided among X, Y and Z in the ratio of 1/3: 1/4: 1/2. What is the share (in Rs) of X ?

Solution

Total amount = Rs. 18,200

Ratio of amount with X : Y : Z = $$\frac{1}{3}:\frac{1}{4}:\frac{1}{2}$$

=> Share of X = $$\frac{\frac{1}{3}}{(\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{2})}\times18,200$$

= $$(\frac{1}{3}\div\frac{4+3+6}{12})\times18,200$$

= $$\frac{1}{3}\times\frac{12}{13}\times18,200$$

= $$4\times1400=Rs.$$ $$5600$$
