The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a standardised computer-based entrance examination held annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It serves as a prerequisite for admission into numerous management institutes offering MBA and PGDM programs across India. The online test comprises 5 sections - Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness and Innovation and Entrepreneurship - with 20 questions in each section. Candidates have to attempt 100 multiple-choice questions within the stipulated time of 180 minutes.
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH-CET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted annually by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra for admission into MBA, MMS and PGDM programs offered by various institutes in the state. The 2-hour 30-minute online exam assesses candidates in four sections - Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension through multiple choice questions.

CMAT vs CET Syllabus 2024
CMAT syllabus is divided into 5 sections - Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
- The Quantitative Techniques section covers topics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, numbers, data sufficiency and data interpretation like tabulation, bar graphs, pie charts and line graphs.
- The logical Reasoning section includes Analytical reasoning, ranking tests, Blood relationships, Cause and Effects, statements and arguments, Sequencing, Directions and distance, Coding and decoding, Linear Arrangements, and Matrix Arrangements etc.
- Language Comprehension includes English grammar, Para completion, Sentence Improvement, Reading comprehension, Jumbled para, One-word substitution, Idioms and Phrases and vocabulary.
- The General Awareness section has questions from current affairs, business, economics, management and other general knowledge areas.
MAH MBA CET exam syllabus consists of four sections - Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension.
- The Logical Reasoning section covers analytical reasoning, series formation, puzzles, syllogisms, direction sense, seating arrangement and critical reasoning.
- Quantitative Aptitude includes topics like arithmetic, algebra, numbers, geometry, measurement and data interpretation.
- Verbal Ability tests vocabulary and grammar including synonyms, antonyms, idioms, phrases, and fill-in-the-blanks.
